日本工房制作、国際文化振興会発行の折帖仕立ての写真集。奥付はないが、1938年3月頃の刊行、木村伊兵衛や土門拳、堀野正雄らの写真を熊田五郎がデザインし制作されたことがわかっている。フォトモンタージュによる大胆な画面構成は、戦前日本のプロパガンダ写真集の最高峰と評される。

　本書には様々なバージョンが存在することが知られているが、本商品の表紙の文字は青の箔押し、扉頁なし、裏表紙には右下に「NIPPON KOBO Printed in Japan Imprine eu Japon」のエンボスがある（「国際文化振興会編製」のエンボスはなし）。

表紙及び裏表紙にスレ、銀箔の剥がれ、僅かに反りあり。入手時点で裏33-34頁が外れ、また端に皺があったが、補修を行った。皺は若干残っているものの一見してわからない程度に修復が施されている。その他は細かい傷等はあるものの、大きな痛みはなし。

　“Nippon (Japan)” is a folded photobook produced by Nihon-kobo. It is famous that “Nippon” was designed by Goro Kumada, and used photographs by Ihei Kimura, Ken Domon, Masao Horino, and others. This book is regarded as the pinnacle of prewar Japanese propaganda photo books with the bold composition of the photomontage screen.

　Various versions of this book are known to exist. This book’s front cover has blue foil stamping, no door page, and “NIhon-kobo Printed in Japan Imprine eu Japon” embossed in the lower right corner on the back cover (no embossing of “国際文化振興会編製(Kokusai Bunka Shinkokai hensei)”).

　The front and back covers are scuffed, silver foil is peeling, and slightly warped. At the time of acquisition, pages 33-34 on the back cover were detached and wrinkled at the edges, but these have been repaired. Although some wrinkles remain, they have been repaired to the extent that they are not visible at first glance. Other than that, there are some minor scratches, but no major damage.
